The origin of the material as it takes shape within architecture … discovering the soul of the material.
We incorporated into our microarchitecture all the processes that the material undergoes from the quarry to the completed building, using materials in various finishes. To reinforce this concept, we employed earth, greenery, and welded mesh—all elements that simulate the stone’s journey: the earth is untrodden, the greenery has no flowers, the iron rusts, and everything lies abandoned until the architect’s “genius” decides how to use it. A connection is created between these two states: the finished, polished, perfectly squared stone, through a process that appears simple and effortless—in contrast to the hard work involved in its excavation and processing—almost like osmosis, like a continuous flow, often making us forget about nature itself and the toil of human labor.
